Back when it originally came out I remember my dad downloading the shareware version and I would spend hours playing, As the years have passed I've always found a way to have a copy of the game on my computer and now it's on Steam. Overall the gameplay is a little trying but it's still pretty fun. I really like the fact that I can use a controller because the original keyboard controls were clunky and platformers are just better with a controller. If you're looking for a fun old school platformer with a little bit of a challenge and a decent story don't hesitate to pick this one up.. If you ever need to feel like a bad♥♥♥♥♥alpha male, that not only has playboy tv, but also a totally real and totally sexy girlfriend (Cindy Gallagher totally called me after playing this) this is the game for you. Then if you wanted the rest of the game, you would call and order it...As opposed to now where most companies want you to pay $150 for a collector's edition of a game that there's a media blackout on and review embargos on...My how times have changed!In any respect, once upon a time there was a company called Apogee. Which made games that I always found extremely enjoyable. I'd always equivocated Apogee games to having their own unique charm, like Rare or Capcom, you always knew when a game was made by one of those companies. This game was one of many charming and fun games on Apogees shareware disc that I never thought I would get the chance to play the full version of. This game is fun. It's challenging. Even to this day, it's a more complete and enjoyable experience than many of the modern “retro” games offered. You can't really go wrong getting this game, especially for the price. It's a side scrolling shooter, with various weapons, power ups, sidearms, enemies and bosses. While also requiring you to find things in the levels such as keys or power cards to open certain doors and progress. It's just straight fun.. Bio Menace is too old to be worth playing if you weren't a PC gamer in the DOS era, but it has held up well enough that it's worth playing if it has nostalgia value for you. Load it up (now without having to worry about editing your config.sys file!) and enjoy the catchy Sound Blaster music, and the plentiful gibs that monsters explode into.Oh yeah, and the guy's rockin' mullet..
